| All children deserve high quality early learning opportunities. Since 1994, Childcare Resources has remained committed to ensuring access to affordable quality childcare for working families of limited means in Indian River County. Today, more than 1,000 Childcare Resources "graduates" have started kindergarten ready to learn.
However, the need remains great.
A Community Need…A Community Solution
For more than ten years, Childcare Resources has been working to address the shortage of quality affordable infant and toddler care in our community, which has has long been recognized as a growing crisis. In July 2009, the Childcare Resources Board of Directors made the commitment to raise the $275,000 needed to open the Childcare Resources Education Center on the campus of Trinity Episcopal Church in July 2010 to further address this need.
Thanks to the generosity and vision of our friends in the community, the Childcare Resources Education Center will open its doors in July 2010.
The Education Center will provide affordable quality care and preschool for 53 children of income-eligible families’ ages eight weeks to five years. 35 will be new infant and toddler spots. We will continue contracting with accredited childcare centers in the community for the care of 43 children, serving 96 children total in 2010-2011.
The Education Center will feature:
Two infant rooms Natural outdoor playscape
1 year old room Open Monday – Friday, year-round
2 year old room NAEYC-accredited program
Preschool room Well-trained teaching staff
Our long term vision includes continuing to increase the number of children in our program, both
at the Education Center and in contracting centers.
We sincerely thank the following individuals, businesses and foundations who are giving their time, talents and treasures to help make the Childcare Resources Education Center a reality! |
