Upcoming Workshops

Early educators from across Indian River County are invited to attend the upcoming professional development workshops! The workshops will provide the skills and knowledge for success in the classroom, with special focus on children up to five years old.  Follow-up support is also available to teachers who would like additional help implementing strategies in the classroom.

  • No cost to attend
  • CEUs available through FLAEYC
  • Certificate of in-service hours available
  • Light breakfast provided at no additional cost

Join Cynthia Raso and Meredith Osborne, of the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center, in discovering Emergent Literacy. Explore early literacy, age-appropriate books and visuals, and how to promote literacy through activities in your classroom.

Credentialing Program for Early Educators

The credentialing program will provide early educators with the opportunity to gain their FCCPC through a 16 week program offered in central Vero Beach. The program, supported by Indian River State College, includes the following courses:

  • Growth & Development (CHD1220)

  • Curriculum (EEC1202)

  • Creative Expression (CHD1332)

  • Practicum (EEC1946)

The program is open to individuals who are currently employed at a childcare center in Indian River County. Funding is available through the TEACH scholarship and tuition assistance.
