Childcare Resources Awards Early Childhood Educator of the Year

Jennifer Poore accepts Early Childhood Educator of the Year award. Poore has dedicated over 10 years of service to young children and families.

Jennifer Poore has been named the recipient of Childcare Resources of Indian River’s second annual Early Childhood Educator of the Year Award, recognizing more than a decade of dedication to young children and families. Created to celebrate the professionalism and impact of early educators, the award shines a light on the essential role they play in shaping children’s lives and strengthening their futures. Poore was honored during Childcare Resources’ Conscious Discipline professional learning workshop at its new Campus of Early Childhood Excellence.

“Early educators are doing essential work every day, laying the foundation for children’s success while making it possible for parents to work and our local economy to thrive,” said Shannon McGuire Bowman, executive director of Childcare Resources. “This award is an opportunity to honor educators like Jennifer who make such a meaningful difference.”

Finalist Cynthia Gonzalez of Douglas Head Start, Early Childhood Educator of the Year Jennifer Poore of Community Preschool, finalist Tracy Craft of Masters Early Childhood Education Center, and finalist Alyssandria Williams of World Class Academy were all recognized at Childcare Resources’ professional learning workshop. Not featured are finalists Noelia Covarrubias from Oxford Academy, Mayelin De Armas from Kendall Academy, Kelly Hammer from Leraning Nest, and Margarita Oxenreider from Kidtastic Large Family Daycare.

Each finalist was nominated by their school director, reflecting the trust, respect and appreciation they have earned from those who know their work best.

Stephanie Squires, Community Preschool director, praised Poore’s impact. “She brings dedication and intentionality to our youngest learners,” said Squires. “We are incredibly fortunate to have her commitment to making each child’s early education experience meaningful.”

“I don’t see this as simply a job,” said Poore. “I see it as an opportunity to build meaningful connections, bring comfort and encouragement to young children, and be inspired by the growth of the toddlers who enter my classroom each year. That is why I teach, and I feel truly honored to help each child find their way.”

In addition to honoring Poore, Childcare Resources recognized the outstanding success of seven other finalists. Together, these educators represent the dedication and expertise that help build a stronger early learning system in Indian River County.
