More than 110 early educators from across Indian River County recently joined Childcare Resources for an inspiring professional learning workshop led by Dr. Michele Lucia.

Childcare Resources of Indian River is thrilled to celebrate the achievements of five early childhood educators who have recently graduated

“Mistakes give us a chance to ask questions and explore a new path,” said Dr. Maleka Donaldson.

“The children that you work with are powerful learners,” said Dr. Angela Eckhoff at a recent Childcare Resources workshop.

The workshop brought together early childhood educators from thirty-three centers across Indian River County to enhance their skills.

“I explored new strategies that help support high-quality interactions in my VPK classroom. "

"You are going to save a kid’s life in the next month,” said presenter Coy Bowles,

“At the end of the day, all that matters is your relationship to the child. The children need to see you, fully present with them.”

Attending the annual conference is a phenomenal way to connect with other early childhood leaders from around the country.

“Many of us learned to be teachers in a world that did not recognize all of the differences in children and their lived experiences.”

“Neurodiversity, if you take it apart, means brain difference,” said Kristen Balhoff, Conscious Discipline Instructor.

“More than anything, we all want to be seen,” said Rhonda J. Meyers, M Ed at a recent Childcare Resources professional development workshop.

“How we build relationships comes down to some simple moments and how they made us feel,” said Winters.

“If we broaden the definition, reading and writing happen very early in life. This is also the beginning of child engagement."

“Children must be seen differently to behave differently,” said Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor Mandy Lloyd.

“The missing link for success is self-regulation,” noted Kim Hughes, “It’s our ability to put a moment between thought and action.”

The Pathway to Quality, a concept developed by Jablon, examines three dimensions that promote successful childhood outcomes: relationships a
