I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect definition of what a Mom is on Google, Pinterest, and many other sites. There were cute sayings and adorable pictures, but nothing felt right. I had to find the perfect example. And then I realized, there is no perfect example. Motherhood is exhausting, messy, demanding, stressful, challenging, and complicated, but it is also caring, compassionate, loving, kind, forgiving, respectful, delighting in, and rejoicing with the most precious gift you can receive – a child.

Children come to us in many different circumstances and call us many similar names to Mom: Grandma (and all the other names for her..Nana, Mimi, Gigi, etc.), Auntie, Mrs. (fill in your teacher name), or even in some families Dad may fill this role. Some children have two legs and some have four. However your special child came into your life and whatever you are called, I wish you a beautiful Mother’s Day. Remember that you are loved.

I hope you enjoy the resources I have referenced below.!

This heartfelt read aloud story comes to us from our friend Bridget Lyons, captain of the Moonshot Reading Rocket at The Learning Alliance.
